What's set always, without consent

A technical session cookie — interface language and form anti-forgery protection. Without it the language switcher and every form on the site would stop working. The theme (light/dark) is stored in the browser's localStorage, not a cookie — the server never even sees that value.

What's set only after your consent

If you clicked "Accept cookies" in the banner — we store that choice itself (1 year) and an anonymous browser identifier (1 year). The identifier isn't tied to your name, email, or anything else that identifies you personally — it powers two things: the "My downloads" section (your list of files) and aggregate site statistics (how many people download and where they get stuck). If you clicked "Decline" — none of this is set, but "My downloads" won't be available to you either.
